Royal Copenhagen

Royal Copenhagen represents 240 years of design, craftsmanship and tradition. Founded in 1775 by Queen Juliane Marie as the Royal Danish Porcelain Factory, it has since then been a reference in porcelain manufacturing in Europe and a part of the danish cultural heritage, associated with the royal family.

Juliane Marie was known as a modern queen and a strong supporter of the country. She was also a strong woman with a good grasp of the needs of the time. It was the task of the reigning monarch to safeguard the country’s economic health with the development of domestic products and services. Her greatest legacy was founding the Royal Danish Porcelain Factor y in 1775.
